Monthly Maintenance & Oil Changes

It’s recommended that you check the engine oil every time you stop for fuel. However, occasionally you’ll need to change the engine oil. This is indicated by the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message on the vehicle’s display. When this message appears, you should change the oil and filter within the next 600 miles.

When operating in the best conditions, the engine oil life system may not indicate that service is needed for up to a year. You must change the oil and filter at least once every 12 months. If for any reason the oil life system is accidently reset, just schedule an oil change for 3,000 miles since the last service.

On a monthly basis, check the following:

• Tire pressure
• Tire condition
• Windshield washer fluid

Required Service Every 7,500 Miles

The tires should be rotated and the following services completed...

• Check the engine oil and life percentage. Replace oil and filter, if necessary.
• Check the engine coolant level.
• Check the windshield washer fluid. Refill if needed.
• Inspect the windshield wiper blades. Promptly replace any worn or damaged blades.
• Check tire pressure and inspect tire condition.
• Check for fluid leaks.
• Inspect the engine air cleaner filter.
• Inspect the vehicle’s braking system, along with the parking brake and automatic transmission park mechanism.
• Inspect steering, suspension, and chassis components for damage, signs of wear, or loose/missing parts.
• Check restrain system.
• Check the fuel system for damage or leaks.
• Inspect the exhaust system and heat shields.
• Lubricate body components.
• Check starter switch.
• Check the accelerator pedal, and replace if needed.
• Inspect the gas strut for wear and tear or damage. Check its hold open ability.
• Check tire sealant expiration.
• Check the sunroof track and seal.
